Family of oldies. Father & brothers volunteered early 70's. Firehouse/hall look great. Alot of good memories, and quite a few names that I remember. My brother still has an original "Oakdale FD" red jacket. Keep up the great work!!

This brings back so many memories. My Dad and both brothers were members of the Oakdale Fire Dept. back in the 70's. In fact the firehouse pin on the background of the web page was designed by my Dad. I still have the pin in memory of my Dad!

I lived on Florida drive in the early to mid 70's as a kid.There was a man by the name of Jim? Barberi?? who was a Lt. at the time.I had no relationship to speak of with my own father and Mr.barberi kind of took to me.He would let me hang around the fire hall and was always teaching me something,I would run up to the hall everytime the whistle blew and was usually there before any ff arrived.Your station was alot smaller then!! It was Lt.Barberi who encouraged me thru some very tough times and got me interested in firefighting.Today I am back in my hometown in upstate New York and am First Assistant Chief of our fire dept.We get approx.1100-1200 jobs a year w/ about 30% being ems.We run alot of mva's ,get about 6-10 structure fires a year along w/ your typical smells and bells calls.Thanks for a great site stay safe and good luck
